The acting director of U.S. Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) has announced that he has given instructions to “ramp up” immigration enforcement at workplaces by four to five times current levels.
ICE’s acting chief Thomas Homan said his agency is going to “significantly increase” the number of inspections of employment eligibility and immigration records at the workplace. These inspections include the review of I-9 Forms and supporting documents and the determination of the sufficiency of public access file documents, where applicable.
